Alain Grée books published by Casterman, 1963 (via Laura, maptitefabrique) | Typeface: Carousel
Font sources show Carousel was designed by Gary Gillot in 1966. These books were published in 1963. Either that date is incorrect, or there is another typeface that preceded Carousel.
