The Tony Award trophy gets a redesign (spoof)

We really like the humor in Milton Glaser’s new ‘Tony’ design and the bold “Applause” trophy by Jessica Helfand & Knowlton (Winterhouse) , and Pensa presents a beautiful concept.

The classic MTV logo sort of gets a redesign. A newly cropped design removes the tagline which emphasizes that the brand represents “music television.” This is the first official logo redesign for the brand in 29 years.

The CNN.com redesign launched over weekend features a prominent new (red) navigation and adds their new “NewsPulse” to the mix. Right now this looks like it is primarily just a way to get to articles on the site based on how they determine popularity, but we’re sure that this will evolve with the refreshed site.
The design was done by HUGE and the CNN.com team (previously Razorfish and CNN.com).

Food Network launches its first iPhone app centered around its nighttime shows. Full episodes and clips stream over wifi and 3g with 6 shows at launch: The Next Iron Chef, Ace of Cakes, Chopped, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, The Next Food Network Star, and The Best Thing I Ever Ate.
The design was done in-house at Scripps Networks Digital with their Developer partner Rhythm New Media.
We’ve been waiting for the 2nd season of The Next Iron Chef, so this couldn’t have dropped at a better time…
