Anyone else tired of the ffffound dead ends, especially for photography? I’m thankful Tumblr has made efforts on their end to discourage the practice of lazy posts. But it still is in the hands of the those posting entries themselves. The excuse of not wanting to clutter your blog with credit lines is not a good enough reason.
Back when we launched two of Tumblr’s most unique features, reblogging and the Tumblr Bookmarklet, we devised automatic “via” links in post captions as a simple solution for attribution. Three years later, this solution has gotten us pretty far. But it’s easy to spot some real shortcomings:

Technorati.com announced the launch of its new redesign on Oct. 14, 2009, quoting comScore for their raking as the fifth largest social media property.
There’s no lack of the color green on the site for their launch, with the content and advertisement reflecting the use of the color on the site. We can’t help but think that this was intentional, and, if so, we find it clever. Either way, there’s no denying their generous use of the color.
In addition to search upgrades and new, original content from bloggers, the Top 100 got a nice update adding “topical authority,” where blogs are ranked within their respective categories.

Personism » Paula Scher Diagrams the Blog
To diagram a blog today without taking Twitter, Fb +/or Tumblr into account might render its result irrevelant. I wonder how Ms. Scher would revise this diagram today, 2+ years later.
