Back in December 2009, the talented Nancy Harris Rouemy collaborated with Canada Type’s Patrick Griffin to design a special display typeface for use in The New York Times Magazine.
“…the magazine’s design concept revolved around a typeface they created specifically for custom vertical malleability, and that can play just as well in single- or multi-color environments. The result was another iconic commemorative issue that shows exotic tri-line letters merging, swashing, extending and flourishing in stunning gold, silver and blue on black on the cover, and in black on white on the inside pages…”—Patrick Griffin
Crescendo has recently been released as a font available for purchase, including ligatures and alternates.

flip through the fun pages online and see all the typographic activities and cute illustrations. Studio 3 designed the book (a design studio comprised of students in the graphic design department of Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo, Norway).
