Myspace.com is on track for a full redesign. The new home page has been unveiled. It has been so long since we’ve visited the Myspace site. We hardly recognize you—until you click past the homepage. Are the upcoming changes enough to give the site another chance? The interaction design studio Pereira & O’Dell is helping give the brand a long overdue facelift.

The anticipated redesign for the AIGA Design Archives, designed by Second Story Interactive Studios, has launched. We’ll have to take some more time browsing the archives, but we are excited to see how far back in time some of the collections go. AIGA has also posted a case study to learn more about the development process and design behind the revamped, substantial design resource. The expansive collections provide something for everyone, from A Decade of Sports Graphics (1987-96) to Fifty Advertisements of the Year (1973). There is plenty of book cover design eye candy too.

abc.com site redesign complete with new homepage, videos, and programming guide:
abc quietly released a beta version of their new site, which focuses on their primetime content with new clips and show pages. The full episode player is pretty much the same pop-up window experience that we’ve enjoyed (except for the “click to continue” part), while the new landing pages give a refresh to the editorial content that accompany the on air programming.

CBSNews.com redesigns their site with a new look and more exclusive content. In addition to the live coverage of breaking news and special events, the redesign brings an updated video library to the “video” page.
Other show pages expand upon the content with full-length and segment videos linking to its respective articles. Although there’s nothing really unexpected in this new version of the site, it’s at least a step further along the right track.
The Cryptic Canvas: an interesting (and potentially addictive) new interactive online game where the viewer tries to identify the 50 films (all from the last 20 years) incorporated into one painting.
The MoMA redesigns their website after 5 years with a wider format. Breaking free of the left navigation the Museum of Modern Art’s site now uses a footer nav to get around the site. Another addition is the new bookmarking option for those who want to register and share pages with others. You can see the old site design here.
The overall experience is a big step forward especially for casual viewers who might not get the chance to visit the museum’s shows and collections in person.
